The Challenge
PSA aimed to digitize dock operations with an app that would replace paper-based workflows for dock workers and foremen. The existing process was prone to errors, lacked real-time updates, and became unusable in bad weather conditions—with bayplans becoming unreadable. To ensure a smooth transition, the solution needed to be intuitive, accessible, and optimized for challenging on-site conditions (e.g., small screens, glove-friendly interactions).

The Solution
Hatch worked closely with PSA, conducting stakeholder interviews, on-site user research, and workflow observations at an actual terminal.
Based on real user needs and constraints, we designed a fully optimized, highly accessible interface with custom components suited for small devices and glove-friendly interactions. The result? A seamless, intuitive, and visually appealing prototype that was enthusiastically received by all stakeholders.
